Set up on 25 April 2013, the Osman Lins Cultural Institute, (ICOL), is a is a non-profit private civil association of an educational and cultural nature providing a public service, presided over by Angela da Costa Lins Pedroso, the writer’s daughter. The ICOL’s main aim is to promote the work and preserve the legacy of its patron, providing public access to the author’s family archive.
The Osman Lins Cultural Institute is the legal owner of the rights to the work, name, image, voice, and signature of the author, and of any re-edition, publication, representation or adaptation of Osman Lins’s literary output in Brazil or overseas. It also owns the copyright and the registered trademark for products related to his name and his work, as registered at the Public Copyright Office and the Image Rights Administration Board. All the uses of the author’s work outlined above are therefore forbidden for whatever purpose, including the transcription of extracts, without the express authorization of the Institute, through its president.
