Bem Vindo

Osman Lins is a Brazilian writer from the State of Pernambuco. He was born in Vitória de Santo Antão on 5 July 1924. He wrote short stories, novels, narratives, travel books and stage plays. The Osman Lins Cultural Institute (ICOL) is a non-profit private civil association of an educational and cultural nature providing a public service. Its aim is to promote the work and preserve the legacy of its patron, providing public access to the author’s family archive.

Vídeo A Drop of Clarity: the career of Osman Lins

In the City of São Paulo, two women visit the places where Osman Lins lived. The current occupants do not let them in. Extracts from the author’s two main novels written in São Paulo - Avalovara and The Queen of the Prisons of Greece – set to images of the city, which appears as one of the characters in the film.
